Features
Strong H7 boom
H7 is a strong boom with excellent performance. It features high lift and slew forces and a wide motion range. The centralized lubrication system makes H7 easy to maintain. Good visibility to the working area.
- Gross lifting torque 217 kNm
- Slewing torque 55 kNm
Intelligent Boom Control IBC as standard
Intelligent Boom Control (IBC) is a standard feature in all H Series harvesters. With IBC, boom control is precise, fast and easy because the operator can focus on controlling the boom tip rather than single boom joint movements.
Next-level cabin comfort
The rotating and levelling H cabin is standard in all H Series machines. The cabin rotates 220 degrees, which gives an excellent view to the working area. The climate control system, good storage space and better lights makes the operator’s working day more comfortable.
More stability with frame lock
The cylinder-operated frame lock makes our machines steady in all terrains and enables excellent stability while working with the boom sideways, offering the operator a large working area. Confident and stable working with the cylinder-operated, strong frame lock and maximized stability with the optional active frame lock.
TimberMatic H control system
The TimberMatic™ H control system with the integrated TimberMatic Maps helps the operator achieve superior performance and productivity.
TimberMatic H automation with the programmable button joysticks offers ease of use and improved ergonomics. The interface is simple, and the H automation system creates consistent user experience across all forestry products. The visualization includes options for night and daylight view. The on-screen view only shows the info relevant to the situation.
- Site starting made easy with TimberManager
- Data flow between machine and TimberManager: StanForD files, reports, worktime etc.
- Daylight and low light themes
- Tree species and timber assortments visualized with different colors.
- Availability of operator-, site- and machine-specific information (e.g. performance & efficiency metrics).
TimberMatic Maps
TimberMatic Maps registers the harvester’s route and timber assortments with the exact location of each log. The forwarders working at the same site are seeing an accurate, real-time situation and the harvester operator also sees the location of the forwarders. The operators can mark the map with areas that are difficult or areas to be avoided, or any other notes about the terrain. The communication between the operators improves, as the data are stored in the system and are not dependent on a person’s memory. The data between the machines are updated through a cloud service.
TimberMatic Maps shows in real-time the positioning and location of logs and the progress of the work at the job site. Maps displays the location and volume of the timber assortment to be loaded. As the loads are transported, the progress is automatically updated on the map and the piles that have been loaded disappear from the map. The production view shows what percentage of the completed production is decay, pulpwood or saw timber.
TimberMatic Maps is a standard feature in all new John Deere forest machines.
Intelligent Cabin Key
Intelligent Cabin Key is a personal remote key to unlock the machine door and open the PC and TimberMatic control system with operator-specific settings. It can also be personalized for service personnel and trailer drivers, and it includes an immobilizer.
When the operator opens the door lock remotely, the machine is powered, the PC is started and the approach lights are lit automatically. The operator just starts the engine and the machine is ready to work.
Rotating and levelling cabin
H Series harvesters 1270H and 1470H have the 220-degrees rotating and levelling cabin as standard. Programmable button joysticks make the operator’s work easier.
The rotating and levelling cabin helps the operator to maintain the correct working posture to prevent stress on the back and shoulder areas. The operator can sit upright even on uneven terrain, and the cabin can be rotated in all directions to face the work area.
The trade dress for the H Series is designed by BMW Design Works. The engine has been turned 180 degrees, the hydraulic oil and fuel tanks and the pumps have been placed in front of the engine, and the fan is at the rear of the machine. All this makes for a very quiet cabin.
The rear and front cameras of the harvester provide good visibility to the work area. The front camera with lights gives better visibility to the front of the harvester in the thinnings when processing trees.
PPC Processing Power Control
The Processing Power Control (PPC) system in the 1270H and 1470H harvesters has three different power levels to choose from, so the most suitable level can be selected for size of the trees being harvested. The PPC system anticipates the engine load and responds with the right power increase for the situation. The Processing Power Control system improves the fuel economy of the harvester.
Effective hydraulics
The hydraulics system features two work pumps and a drive pump, delivering superior hydraulic power for all harvester functions. This ensures a balanced fuel economy, optimizing productivity while minimizing fuel consumption.
FT4 engine
The output of the John Deere 6090 PowerTech engine in the 1270H and 1470H harvesters is 220 kW and the torque is 1450 Nm.
The John Deere engine has a remarkable high torque and power over a wide rpm range. The engine’s rpm remains steady during big and rapid changes in the load. The engine is fuel efficient and can be run entirely on renewable diesel.
The exhaust emissions treatment system is protected by placing it inside the machine structure – and without changing the engine cover dimensions or visibility to the work area.
