Queensland vegetable farming business, Kalfresh, has had a decades-long relationship with John Deere in their farming business so it was no surprise that they looked to JD for equipment to deliver their Australian-first food and energy precinct.
RDO Equipment Australia recently delivered a John Deere 9R 540 Scraper Special and a John Deere 950 P-Tier Dozer to Kalfresh’s Scenic Rim Agricultural Industrial Precinct site at Kalbar.
Ag Precinct supports regional community
The delivery marks another milestone in Kalfresh’s relationship with John Deere.
The machines are being used to undertake the bulk earthworks on the 40ha project site, where Kalfresh will build a bioenergy facility that turns food and farm waste into electricity, fuel and fertiliser.
The Precinct will become a hub for the co-location of agricultural value-adding businesses, who will benefit from close proximity to raw ingredients, including dairy, poultry, beef and vegetables, and the service businesses that support agriculture.

Purpose-built for demanding applications, the John Deere 9R 540 Scraper Special delivers the horsepower, traction, and efficiency required for large-scale earthmoving. Paired with the John Deere 950 P-Tier Dozer, engineered for precision, durability, and advanced grade control capability, the fleet is well suited to deliver the earthworks needed for a project of this scale.
