RDO Equipment leads the way in John Deere Tech Award nominations

We are thrilled to announce that 10 John Deere technicians from RDO Equipment have been named as Australian finalists from a competitive field of entries in the second annual John Deere Technician Awards.

The John Deere Technician Awards were established in 2021 to recognise the hard work and expertise technicians provide to the agriculture, turf, construction and forestry industries across Australia and New Zealand, and their drive to support businesses to be their most efficient, productive and profitable.

This years’ talented list of technicians rose to the top of more than 100 award nominations, and will now progress to the second round of judging, where their hands-on skills and technical expertise for providing remote backup support will be tested.

RDO Equipment received nominations in all six categories: Agriculture Service Technician of the Year, Construction & Forestry Service Technician of the Year, Turf Service Technician of the Year, Service Apprentice of the Year, Parts Technician of the Year and Parts Apprentice of the Year.

RDO Equipment CEO, Phil Canning, says that having the leading number of finalists across the majority of categories shows the quality of support that RDO Equipment offers customers across their broad range of sectors that support the Australian economy.

“These 10 finalists show that our people are some of the best in their field. From our apprentices to well-seasoned technicians, our finalists are a true asset to RDO Equipment and we’re extremely excited for them to receive the recognition they deserve for their continued dedication and attitude,” Phil says.

John Deere Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Luke Chandler also offered his congratulations to the finalists. “Technicians deliver services integral to the agriculture, construction and forestry industries by not only providing vital backup support and remote diagnostics, but by empowering operators and producers to get the most out of their machinery and technology,” Mr Chandler said.

“Australia is fortunate to have an enormous pool of talented technicians working across our agriculture, forestry, construction and earthworks sites, so these finalists deserve to be very proud for being named among the best in their field.”

The award winners will be announced at a special gala event on 5 August in Brisbane.
